GSA Board Progress Report - October 2009

E-mail Print PDF

Dear GreySheeters,

GSAWS Board has changed to a monthly meeting schedule to better support the Board participation in the planning of the GSA World Service Conference. The next board meeting is the annual face to face meeting at the time of the NYC Round-Up.

The Board is currently seeking membership for several positions. Gayla has needed to step down as GSAWS Conference chair. Until a new chair is selected, Esther Helga, Chair of the GSA World Service Board will be working with the committee to keep the work of the delegates moving forward. The GSA Board is grateful to Gayla for the excellent vision and structure she developed to plan the GSAWS Conference.

Spanish translation of the GSAWS literature is underway. There is already a translation in Icelandic. The Board recently revised the application forms for translation of GSA literature.

The use of PayPal for the sale of literature and the collection of donations has been very successful. It has greatly simplified the process for ordering and sending materials.

GSAWS Board is planning to have a table at the NYC Roundup in order to promote the GSA World Service Conference in Chicago this August 2010. The NYC Roundup is a great opportunity for GSA members all around the world to meet face-to-face.

The Board discussed new formats for financial reporting and received reports on a variety of activities occurring in the fellowship. The Board is now meeting using Skype.

Joy C. has joined the Greysheet World Service Board in the position of Assistant Treasurer. There are still three positions that need to be filled. Nominations and self nominations are welcome.

The Israeli Intergroup has received permission to translate the GSA Pamphlet into Hebrew. It has been translated into Icelandic and Spanish.

Gayla is initiating a process for GSA Board members to identify their participation in the Committees that will develop the content/background papers for the GSA World Service Conference in Chicago (August 2010).

Delegates to the World Service Conference will be attending their second meeting on September 14th and 15th. They will be invited to join the Committees developing the agenda for the World Service Conference and dialogue on several issues in the planning of the conference.

The Pacific Intergroup had their first meeting. Their delegates to the World Service Conference are Becky B. (Los Angeles) and Marty (Seattle). The Pacific Intergroup minutes have been published on the Greysheet website with their meeting dates for the coming year and the invitation for additional groups in the western region to attend: http://www.greysheet.org/cms/intergroup-areas/pacific/meeting-minutes.html.
