Area Delegates are an important link in maintaining and contributing to the growth and unity of GreySheeters Anonymous (GSA) around the world.
- Area Delegate represents their Intergroup Area by attending the GSA World Service Conference to elect a Board of Trustees and to approve the proposed activities of the Board.
- An Area Delegate is a member of GSA who has at least three years of back-to-back GreySheet abstinence and who wishes to practice the Twelfth Step - "carry this message to other compulsive eaters".
- Each registered Intergroup of GSA elects an Area Delegate for a two-year term of office. An Area Delegate represents only one Intergroup of GSA. An Area Delegate is usually a group GSR but this is not a requirement.
- An Area Delegate attends GSA meetings regularly, is familiar with the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, and has a determination to practice the Twelfth Tradition - to put principles before personalities.
- An Area Delegate receives information from the Board of Trustees of GSA World Service and shares that information with their Intergroup.
- An Area Delegate attends Area Intergroup meetings to learn about issues concerning their Area so they may represent their Area at the World Service Conference.
