Your Board of Trustees needs your help to carry the message to the compulsive eater who still suffers! As many of you know, the GreySheeters Anonymous World Service Board is building a service structure for GreySheeters Anonymous (GSA). This service structure is essential to our primary purpose - to stay abstinent and to help other compulsive eaters to achieve abstinence. The proposed three-part service structure is a simplified version of the service structure of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and will consist of:
Part 1: Registered Meetings of GreySheeters Anonymous groups who each elect a General Service Representative (GSR).
- GreySheeters Anonymous groups meet weekly (usually) for members to share their experience, strength, and hope on living in the solution of GreySheet abstinence and the Twelve Steps of AA.
- These regular meetings help us to carry the message to the compulsive eater who still suffers.
- A description of the requirements to register a meeting, including guidelines for the phone meetings and "outposts" are available on the GSA website at http://www.greysheet.org/meetsupt.shtml.
- A description of the role of the GSR is available on the GSA website at http://www.greysheet.org/servguid.shtml.
- Area Intergroups provide services to their GreySheet groups by addressing issues that affect their Area, such as meeting lists, phone hotlines, literature sales, contacts with professionals, etc.
- These services help the groups carry the message to the compulsive eater who still suffers.
- The GSRs represent their group at the Intergroup meetings and elect an Area Delegate.
- The proposed Intergroup Areas, including the phone meeting Intergroups, are available on the GSA website at http://www.greysheet.org/intergroups.shtml.
- A description of the role of the Area Delegate is available on the GSA website at http://www.greysheet.org/servguid.shtml.
- The Area Delegates represent their Intergroups at the World Service Conference and elect a Board of Trustees.
- Area Delegates also approve the activities of the Board of Trustees by voting on proposed services and literature at the Service Conference.
- The Board of Trustees provides services to the GreySheet groups and the Area Intergroups by:
- Addressing issues that affect all GSA groups, such as our relationship with other Twelve Step fellowships and dealing with professionals and the media
- GreySheeters Anonymous website
- Literature
- Toll free telephone information line
- An audio file on the history of GSA World Service and the Board's current services and activities is available on the GSA website at http://www.greysheet.org/gsaws.shtml.
